Announcement: Jr Mustangs approved for Pilot to Play in Local OMHA Shamrock 'A' League
We are excited to announce that ALLIANCE Hockey, in partnership with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, have
approved the GLHA Jr Mustangs to join the Shamrock 'A' league as part of a pilot project for the 2025-26 season in the U16 and U18 age groups.
This initiative provides an excellent opportunity for the U16 and U18 Jr Mustangs teams to compete in a
geographically convenient league within the area.
Our Committee has worked with both Alliance and OHMA on this initiative for several years as it will to allow our teams to play strong, local 'A' level competition, which also allows for local, week night games to free up weekends.
Regular season play is structured, competitive, and designed to challenge players consistently throughout the year.
The Shamrock 'A' League centres are: Ausable Valley (Ilderton/Lucan/Parkhill), Elgin Thames (Aylmer/Dorchester), Mt. Brydges, St. Mary’s and Strathroy.
In addition, there will be 'interlock' play with both the Southern Counties 'A' and familiar Alliance Seeded 'A' teams (after the 'split') for varied competition.
The Southern Counties 'A' loop features: Brant, Delhi-Norwich, New Hamburg, Norfolk, South Oxford.
