The U13 Junior Mustangs Purple had a tremendous weekend at the Watford A Regional Silver Stick tournament where they were crowned regional champions and advanced to the International Finals in Sarnia in the New Year.
It was a total team effort which included 2 round robin wins vs the St. Mary’s Rock and the Mount Brydges Cougars. Seeded first heading into the elimination round set up a rematch with St. Mary’s and a 4-1 victory.
In the semi finals it was Mount Brydges again and once again a victory this time by the score of 1-0. The finals was against league rivals, the St.Thomas Stars and it ended in another exhilarating 1-0 victory.
The weekend saw the Mustangs go 5-0 with an amazing 18 goals for and just 1 goal against.
This was a total team effort and the coaches, players and all involved are extremely excited to compete against the best A teams in the province in January.
