At the conclusion of AA tryouts we had 3 players whose fathers
were originally selected to be Head Coaches of 3 of our teams who ended up
being successful in making a AA team.
Our Coach Selection subcommittee met and reviewed previous
applications and interviewed new applicants, working quickly to have the 3 Head Coach replacements
set for the beginning of Jr Mustangs tryouts.
Our Coach Selection Subcommittee interviewed all of our coach applicants for this season, and if they have a child within that age group they are recused from being part of interviews and any decisions within their child's age group. Their recommendations are based on our philosophy and Hockey Canada player pathways and Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model and were submitted to the full Jr Mustangs Management Committee for approval by the majority. The Coach Selection subcommittee also sought out opinions to be certain that all children of parent coaches are capable of playing at the 'A' level.
The Jr Mustangs Management Committee is a sub-committee of each GLHA Association. There are 2 Board Members who represent each of the 4 GLHA associations on the committee (Bandits, West, North and Oakridge) plus our 2 staff ice schedulers and an independent elected Chair. Each GLHA association President sits as an “ex officio”. Committee members are engaged in tryouts and throughout the season for the age divisions that they convene. All Final rosters are submitted to our Chair for approval prior to posting.
The majority of the Jr Mustangs Management Committee voted in favour of the following replacement coaches that they recommended.
