GLHA London Jr Mustangs are proud of our new partnership with Heroic Minds (though Alliance Hockey) to offer additional mental health support to U13 and older players in our program this season to help our players be the best possible version of themselves.
We believe that player mental health habits, behaviour, relationships and lifestyle goals are important. Jr Mustangs players and team staff from will have access to the Heroic Minds platform developed by former OHL player Ben Fanelli, who overcame a traumatic brain injury before going on to become OHL and CHL Humanitarian of the Year in 2013.
Heroic
Minds arms athletes with tools and resources, enhancing the current approach to
behaviour change and highlighting the direct link between overall life skills
and sport performance. The platform includes access to resources on
psychoeducation, philosophy, psychology, leadership skills, communication
skills, relationship skills and much more.
The Heroic Minds platform will provide players and team staff with a tremendous
mental health resource that can be accessed at any time.
