Wow! What a season! The kids owned the last half of the season - 13-4-3 after the split. We won our first tournament. We lost 2-1 in the finals to the AA team that lost in the finals in the AA loop in our third tournament. We won our last tournament. We lost by a hair in the playdown semi-finals, and then we went on to win the playoff finals against a really tough Jr Mustangs Purple team. What an amazing bunch of kids. The kids did it again,  winning the last tournament of the season (to add to the championship hardware from the first tournament of the season). They fought hard and won a nail biter in a shootout against a tough Jr. Mustangs Purple team in the finals. They played like a team - a great team, winning 4 straight games. It was a masterful display of defense, allowing an average of only 12 shots per game, and Giles and Logan put on a goaltending clinic allowing only 2 goals against in 4 games and coming up with the huge saves when we needed them. And play like champions they did. The Jr. Mustangs took the University of Notre Dame and South Bend, Indiana by storm in the team's first tournament ever. The kids played hard and won 3 straight games against tough competitors to bring home the championship hardware. Way to go, kids! What a great start to what promises to be a great season of hockey ahead!
