Minor Peewee White Pre-Tryout Information
Submitted By Jeff Edwards on Thursday, May 9, 2019
Beginning May 12th, in cooperation with multiple evaluators and in consultation with administration we will be selecting this seasons Minor Peewee A/AA roster for the 2019-20 season. This team will consist of 15 position players and 2 goalies for participation within the Alliance.  As we enter this tryout process no pre-determined selections have been made.  There will be no cuts made until after the second session and every participant will be given a fair and equal opportunity to demonstrate their skills, no participant will ever be centered out at any time and all involved will be encouraged to enjoy the experience.

                 For some families this may be your first exposure to this level of hockey and the excitement and commitment this level brings.  Please read over the following information outlining the financial expectations, and the always important time commitment each player’s family will be undertaking if their child is successfully selected to this team.

                This season our team will again be competing in the Alliance A/AA Seeded division with competition from here in London and numerous centers like Kitchener, Sarnia and Burlington.  The first 13 games of the season will see us play each team once and following that completion the division will be divided between A Bristol and AA Constellation and will continue with play in those respective divisions culminating in playoffs and eventual championships.  This team will generally be on the ice 3-4 times per week and every other week will see us participate in a dryland activity. We will be participating in four and possibly five tournaments, pending Silver Stick success this year, one within London, two within a one hour drive and one overnight USA tournament. We will not be participating in a tournament over the Christmas break.  This team will also play additional exhibition games spread out across the next few months alongside our regular scheduled games.

  A successful member of this team can expect the following costs/commitments (in addition to registration);

  1. $650.00 A/AA upcharge / player

  2. Generate $1,000.00 / player team budget via sponsorship, fundraising or cash payment (to be outlined)

  3. Team Apparel, players will be required to have a warm up suit, hat/toque and possibly shorts and a tee

    1. Jr. Mustang’s apparel is available for purchase from Pete’s Sports or Source for Sports.

A successful Minor Pee Wee participant on this team whom does not participate in acquiring sponsorships or fundraising would face a financial impact of $1,650.00 in addition to the registration costs paid to your home association.  Please understand that this value excludes travel or hotel expenses and personal equipment.

                This team will also be participating in various fundraising initiatives as well as the Chevy Good Deed’s Cup pending Parent discussion and an overall team agreement.  Dispersal of funds will be outlined at team signing and funds shared amongst active participants.

                It continues to be my goal along with the cooperation of all coaches and families to develop our children’s hockey skills while building better young people. The emphasis and expectation for everyone connected with this team remains hard work, dedication, sportsmanship, courtesy and respect in everything we do.  I’m personally committed to demonstrating these values at every opportunity. Throughout the season we will incorporate other outside Professionals, coaches and techniques including team builders to support and promote overall development and fun.

                Finally, at no point will this team nor I forget that hockey is just a game.  I’m dedicated to ensuring we all have fun this season and the overall theme of T.E.A.M. will be apparent in everything we do.

                If anyone would like to discuss further our team ambitions or obligations please do not hesitate to ask me.  I thank everyone for participating in the London Jr. Mustangs White hockey program.

Good Luck and much success,

Jeff Edwards
