After a very successful 2024-2025 season, I'm excited to get the tryout process started to select our 2025/2026 U15 AA/A Jr Mustangs Purple team. My name is Jeff Delaney and I will once again be coaching the 2011 age group.
Some housekeeping items to note before we start the first tryout skate:
Tryout Schedule
May 5th - 6pm @ Western Fair - LMA
May 6th - 8:15pm @ Western Fair - Chick-Fil-A
May 7th - 8:30pm @ Thompson Arena - Exhibition Game vs Grey Mustangs
May 10th - 5pm @ Western Fair - Collins Arena - Exhibition Game vs Grey Mustangs
All tryout times will be scrimmages/games so please bring a filled water bottle with you
If there are any changes to the tryout schedule, they will be posted on the U15 Purple website, so please continue to check the calendar
Check-In Process
There will be a check-in table in the lobby outside of LMA for the first skate - please head to that table to get your tryout jersey - all jersey's are to be returned after each skate
Release Process
With changes to the OHF guidelines this year, players will only guaranteed 2 ice times - releases will occur after the May 6th scrimmage and not all players may be on the ice for every skate as we are playing a couple of exhibition games
Keep in mind that players are allowed to tryout at multiple centres' at the same time, so I please ask that you inform me of this prior to the tryouts so that any conflicts can be managed
Season Plan
The Jr Mustangs Purple team will be participating in the Alliance AA/A league once again and we are looking forward to a very competitive year. Our team will participate in 5 Tournaments throughout the season, starting with the inaugural Jr Mustangs Early Bird Classic along with other tournaments that will be focused at the AA/A level and additional exhibition games will be scheduled against both AA and A teams.
I will be posting the initial registration list on Saturday evening once tryouts at other centres' come to a close. Once posted, if you do not see your name, please notify me right away so that I can look into.
