The GLHA London Junior Mustangs are excited to announce that we will implement an open-borders policy for the 2025-2026 season across all age groups, U10 to U18.
This means there will be no residency requirements for players wishing to join our fantastic A/AA Alliance Hockey program.
This change reflects our commitment to the feedback we’ve received over the last few weeks.
We are proud to be affiliated with the Varsity Hockey programs of Western University and proudly wear Mustang's iconic Purple.
By opening our borders, we aim to provide players greater access to opportunities for development and competition. Our goal is to lead, promote and develop positive hockey experiences for all stakeholders, an unmatched hockey experience, a true player development focus, strong culture, and a highly committed and experienced roster of coaches and committee members.
With London's central location we have unmatched access to icetime at all London arenas, which provides our teams with consistent and predictable twice-weekly practice times throughout the season at local arenas.
Our association is committed to ensuring that every player and family receives the best support as we navigate these changes together.
GLHA Jr Mustangs Program Structure for Purple and Gray:
The current residency structure will remain in place for London players.
- For U10-U13 and U18 age groups, we will continue offering a city-wide program.
- For U14-U16, teams will be divided into Purple and Grey tiers based on their local boundary.
- Lambeth and Out of town (non-London resident) players will have a one time choice of which team they tryout for - Purple or Grey (U14-16)
