Mustangs Give Back; Then Take Tournament
The last 4 days have been quite busy for the London Jr Mustangs White Major Peewee hockey team. Last Thursday evening, the boys got together and donated their time and resources in support of buying gifts for less fortunate kids in the community.
They followed that experience by travelling to Oshawa this past weekend to compete in the Oshawa Hockeyfest Tournament.
They battle Ajax, Georgina, and the host Oshawa Minor Generals and finished their round robin play with a 2-0-1 record to finish first in the 10 team division. Three power play goals in the semi finals versus Peterborough lead to a 5-3 win and a trip to the finals versus the Osgoode Richmond Romans. The end of regulation saw the teams tied 1-1 and after killing off a penalty in the first overtime the Mustangs scored on a power play of their own for the double overtime 2-1 victory.
The coaches are very proud of the character, hard work, and determination of the team over the past 4 days.
